The 10-Minute Hormone Reset (That Actually Works)

Most women think hormones are the boss. They're not. Your nervous system is. When your nervous system is frazzled, which, let's be honest, is most of the time, your cortisol stays high, your progesterone drops, and your cycle goes off the rails. You can't supplement your way out of a stressed-out nervous system. You can't green-juice it away. But you can reset it. In ten minutes. Myth 1: You need an hour to make a difference You don't. Ten minutes of deliberate, slow, floor-based yoga lowers cortisol more effectively than an hour of frantic vinyasa. It's not about the time. It's about the quality of the pause. Myth 2: Deep breathing is optional It's not. Your breath is the remote control for your vagus nerve, the main highway between your brain and your reproductive system. Shallow chest breathing keeps you in fight-or-flight. Slow belly breathing tells your ovaries it's safe to do their job. Myth 3: If you're not sweating, you're not working Your hormones don't care about your heart rate. They care about safety signals. Slow, supported, grounding postures – legs-up-the-wall, reclined twist, supported bridge, signal safety. And safety is what allows your cycle to regulate. What actually works A 10-minute nightly ritual: 3 minutes of legs-up-the-wall 3 minutes of reclined bound angle 4 minutes of slow belly breathing (inhale 4, exhale 6) Do this consistently, not perfectly, just consistently, and your nervous system stops treating your body like a crisis zone. That's when your hormones follow.
